Image result for maradona hand goal

In the FIFA world cup quarter final match between Argentina v England, played on 22 June 1986 at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, something remarkable happened. Something which we can always reflect on even though it had happened so many years ago.

51 minutes into play, captain of the Argentina team, Diego Maradona scored a very controversial goal by using his hand. Beating the intelligence of the referee and other officials and the world at large, this act by Maradona had since become known as the "Hand of God goal"

Still on the match which ended 2-1 in favor of the Argentine s, we noticed that while Maradona's second goal of the game proves his brilliance perhaps better than any other he scored in his career, his first (hand of God) was an equally perfect example of his ability to create controversy and divided opinion.
