EFCC Invites Emir Sanusi secretary, treasurer for questioning

PUNCH News reports that the secretary and treasurer to Kano's emirate, headed by Former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria during the Goodluck Ebele tenure,  Dr Sanusi Lamido  has been invited by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) as part of investigation on a said  probe centered on the use of six billion naira ($19 million, 17 million euros) of palace funds to pay for luxury cars, chartered flights, phone and internet bills as well as other personal expenses.
The Emirate has denied all allegations. “The emirate council has never bought a Rolls Royce for the emir,” treasurer Mahe Bashir Wali told reporters last Monday. “These cars were given as gifts by his friends after he became emir.”
However, Emir Sanusi is yet to publicly comment on the accusations.
